Kunming 昆明
The Spring City welcomed me with snowfall for the first two days of my trip.
Travel
Flight
Prior to this location, I had visited Sanya, so I flew into Kunming and then stayed downtown.
Transportation to the hotel
Like most places, I take a Didi from the airport to the hotel. It just makes more sense with large luggage. I honestly don’t remember much about that transfer, so it must have been fine. It was in the evening and relatively late.
Accommodations
I stayed in two hotels. Because I planned to meet up with friends in Xi’an, but they didn’t have their final dates determined, I kept changing the end of my trip to see which would be cheaper: going back to Shanghai and then going to Xi’an or going from my last destination directly to Xi’an. The first hotel I stayed in became more expensive or didn’t have availability because of Chinese New Year, so I booked a second hotel for the last few days.

Final Thoughts
Traveling during Chinese New Year is crazy. Would not recommend.
